Saved by Android 2.2

Just two days after I installed Android 2.2 on my Nexus One my old D-Link wireless router chose to stop working. No problem! I quickly set up a 'portable hotspot', and now I am back surfing! So far everything is fine, but the battery usage related to WIFI is obviously increasing - you get nothing for free. And well, I am not planning on running my home network over my phone longer than necessary!

Software Passion?

Together with two colleges from Trifork, Per Nymann Jørgensen and Niels Sthen Hansen, I will be giving a tutorial on the JAOO conference this year. This was of course an excellent opportunity to start this blog.

Along with blog address, high definition picture and description of the tutorial, I was asked for my Software Passion. Go to the JAOO conference site, and you will now why.
Am I passionate about my work? Sure! Writing software without passion sounds like the most boring thing to do. Its not writing curly braces that do the trick... Describing the passion in a way that is Twitter-ish took me a while, and my best until now is:

Writing software with the right viscosity

It shouldn't be hard as a stone, making it impossible to form with the bare hands and without a chance to guess what's inside.

Neither should it be like water - fits into anything but very hard to control. And if you are not very carefully, you might end up looking as if you peed in your pants.

Somewhere between stone and water, more like clay - you can shape it to your need and it feels good in your hands. At least as long as you care for it. Don't forget it in the sun - it will surely dry out!

What is your passion?!?
